I have mad love for Barney Stinson. We're all aware of this.

HOWEVER.

One man was responsible for my survival from the years 2001 through 2008. (Okay, two: we can't forget Stephen Colbert.) Jon Stewart, people. He has made me laugh, he has made me cry, he has been there through everything. My most formative years! Would I be so interested in politics and what's going on in the world without him? Maybe, but maybe NOT.

Think of the memories we've shared: His actually totally heartfelt and affecting monologue post-9/11; going on Crossfire and ridiculing Tucker Carlson for his bow ties and calling him a dick on live tv; how I cried when Bush won reelection and Jon was so completely sharing my misery, tapping his pen on the desk and moving the papers around and shoulders all sagged with the realization we had FOUR MORE YEARS of this. And my favorite part of Obama winning the election was the PURE UNADULTERATED GLEE on Jon's face when he announced the news (and how Stephen cried!!), and the next day ("Karl Rove can't hurt me anymore!!").

THIS MAN HAS CHANGED TV. AND MY LIFE.

DO THE RIGHT THING. VOTE JON STEWART.
